Bento #52

There was a little struggle this morning.

There were only 2 slices of bread left.

Who should get to eat the bento? It was a mega (think McD's "mega" burgers) hash brown sandwich with cucumbers on buttered bread, some tomatoes and a mandarin orange.

Being a traditional, oriental, humble, loving, self-sacrificing and affectionate wife, I decided that Clement will have the bento.

p/s: the bread is about to expire anyway. :D

Bento #51

I am quite pleased with my bentos today! The presentation looks good and it tastes just as good! However, it was a little time consuming to shape the onigiris and sprinkle the furikake and white sesame. In my 3/4 awake state, I clumsily messed up the kitchen with sesame seeds all over the place. The sushi rice goes well with the Japanese cripsy chicken I baked. The egg with seaweed added some nice colours to the bento.

Hmmm! Nice to look, good to eat!! Hahahaha!!

This is for Clement. I got this Japanese styled 2-tier bento box from Daiso! Cheap and elegant!

This is mine.

This is YH's.

Bento #50

This is a HIS and HERS bento. His--Cinamaroll. Hers-- My Melody.

My MIL gave me some left overs from, my nephew, Kai's party yesterday. The sausage and the bacon roll was awfully sinful, awfully unhealthy but they were awfully nice too. To "balance out" the unhealtiness, I put in some fruits and veggis plus the pooh shaped bread.

I was given some pork ribs too. I saved them for lunch to go with a bowl of tasteless oatmeal. Erm, not too bad too.

Bento #49

It is not easy to wake up everyday at 5am to make bentos. This morning I hammered on the alarm clock when it went off (that reminds me, the battery for the alarm is weak...must change battery!!) and continued to lay on the bed till 5.30am.

With my limited time (again), this is what I came up with: spaghetti in campbell chicken soup as sauce with cocktail sausages. This is my breakfast. It's yummy!!

My lunch is cold soba and a dragon fruit. I forgot to add in wasabi. TSK!! So angry with myself! I kept everything in the fridge at the staff pantry. Everything was nice and cold by lunchtime. I put the soba sauce in the little kitty container and added cold water from the water cooler before I pour onto my soba. Hmmmm.... nice lunch. It would be much nicer with WASABI!!

Clement had the same breakfast as me. We thought the black pepper fish luncheon was so-so. Maybe it's the black pepper lah. I had a few other flavours in my kitchen cabinet. Let's see how they taste like another time.

Bento #48

I overslept and woke up at 5.30am instead of 5am. Hence everything was done in a rush. What a perfect excuse for my simple bentos! Hahaha!! I wanted to fry some seaweed omelet to add to the bento but I was really running short of time. By the time I finished washing the pots and pans, it was already 6.35am.

I bought this special stainless steel bento box for our macho man Clement because as I have mentioned before, Hello Kitty embarrassed him terribly.... I got it from Sheng Siong for about $12.

This is my lunch.

This is for YH again. I promised her a nice bento but this is not up to standard. I can do better than this if I had woke up at 5am. And why did I oversleep? Because I MSN with her till midnight ...

Bento #47

This is one of the rare days I make 2 bentos just for myself. Clement is on leave today so I just made a simple sandwich for him before I left for work.

This is my breakfast. I cooked some spaghetti and poured baked beans over it as the sauce. I didn't like any of the pasta sauce available in the market so I am experiementing with alternatives. Sardine doesn't work.It tastes bad. Bake bean is a healthier and tastier substitute.

Sandwiches are easier to keep till lunch so I ate my sandwich for lunch. I have arranged my sandwich in this manner at least a thousand times but I cannot think of any way else to arrange it, given the constaints of my bento boxes. Oh!! I just found another excellent excuse to shop for MORE bento boxes!!! YIPEEE!!!

Bento #46

I bought the Neo Snowspread recommended by Meekfreek and I love the taste of the spread with the bread! The fragrance of the butter simply explodes in your mouth with every bite! To share the good taste, I made 4 bentos today.

Clement's bento: Ham sandwich, fish finger x1, ham-wrapped tomato x2, kweh-kweh x1, Jap cracker x1. That was quite a large portion so I advised him to eat it for breakfast and lunch. However, the SMS I received at 10am informed me that the glutton had finished everything for breakfast.

My bento: sandwich, tomato, kweh-kweh, fish finger.

HappyPig's bento: She bought me this Cinnamaroll bento box! :) I took 2 fish fingers from my mom's dinner table last night so there isnt enough to go round. Hence, she gets a Jap cracker in replacement. :D

YH's bento. She is my fellow MayDay fan-friend. I believe those who believe in the music of MayDay are good and kind people. At least YH is one. :)
