I appeared on Tv on 1st Sept @8.10am as one of the 2 "extraodrinary" teachers to be interviewed. On that very afternoon, I received a call from the producer of the Good Morning Singapore and was invited to go on Tv again on the 7th Sept to demonstrate bento making.
WAH!
I was asked to demonstrate how to make 4 of the bentos in my book. Everything was ok, even when making the bento "live". The only thing which made me so nervous that I lost my sleep was packing the stuff to bring to Mediacorp. It was not going to be like in my own kitchen that has all the things I needed. I have to plan carefully and made sure I brought all the things I have to bring. From the moulds to the nori punchers to the butter knife to the chopping board to the ham to the cheese to the vegetables ....
Luckily everything went on quite smoothly. I still do not know which camera to look so I just looked straight ahead all the time.
The hosts -- on my left, QiQi and on my right, Lin You Yi. I told them they had to eat my bentos. No way I would be bringing them home.
I woke up at 4.40am to start the prepartion. Although I was in a hurry and everything was in a mess, I managed to take 2 pictures to remember what was it like "behind the scene".
In the afternoon I went to Paragon to exchange for a tshirt size. Then I walked over to Kinokuniya and guess what I saw? MY BOOKS!! They were put on the "new arrivals" in the Chinese book section. Oooooooo...... this was exactly what I had dreamed of!!!
I fished out my camera and took a picture discreetly. Then, I stood for a while to see if anybody picked up the book. Unfortunately, in my 5 mins there, only 2 person went to the new arrived section and 0 out of 2 touched the book. Sigh.
Nevermind. There were many other books that shared the same fate too. Hahahaha!!!
More importantly, I hope MayDay read my book. :D
