Here I am making bento 2.1, bento 2.2 and bento 2.3
What is Bento 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3? Well, these 3 bentos contain the same food but arranged in 3 different lunch boxes. 2.1 is for Clement, 2.2 is for my best friend HappyPig and 2.3 is for myself!
Today's menu: (1) bear shaped rice balls with (2)carrot flowers, (3)fried egg, (4)sausages, (5)tofu skin wrapped chicken (again), (6)koniyaku (again), (7)a piece of kwey-kwey from Bengawan solo.
These 3 bentos took me about 50mins to prepare. I cooked the rice and washed the butterhead lettuce at midnight before I went to bed. This morning I (a)bake the chicken, (b)microwave the sausages (c)boil the carrots (d)shape the rice (e)fry the egg (f)punch the eyes and the mouth for the bears (g)cut out the carrots.
Wah~~~ great satisfaction when I saw the look on HappyPig's face and Clement's sms!
Bento 2.1-- Clement's. A little untidy because there wasn't enough place to put all the food. Follow-up action: Buy a bigger lunchbox (Read: MORE SHOPPING!)
Bento 2.2 -- HappyPig's. HappyPig is a big fan of Hello Kitty so she gets the HK box I bought from Chinatown Point yesterday.
Bento 2.3 -- Mine. The portion in my bento is much smaller than the other 2 because I have already eaten all the off-cuts from the carrots and left-over rice when I was making the bentos. It feels too sinful for me to throw the off-cuts into the bin so I decided to throw them into another bin-- my stomach.
Initially I didn't want to punch the seaweeds to make the eyes and the mouth for the bears. I tried using raisins and the eyes turned out to be scarily big. I tried sesame seeds and the bears looked like Sandy Lam. Well, the nori punchers are the best.
This is my second attempt and I am so proud of my creation!
